Evaluation: Project Evaluation -

Project Evaluation -

In what way does your media product use, develop or challenge forms of real media products?

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts?

What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

I learnt that my main task was well liked by my target audience and that they were able to see both stereotypes and challenges of youth stereotypes in our work which then meant representations were well perceived.

Despite this, many people in audience feedback made reference to the editing being too considerate in its restricted beat count. The strict layout meant that some shots appeared too long or too short and took awake from other scenes that audiences would have liked to have seen instead.

The main positives about my ancillary website task is that audience found the overall aesthetic pleasing and that it links well with my digiapk through the monochromatic colour scheme and house style. Moreover, feedback also said that it also worked well with my main task music video as the video was placed as most significant due to it being in colour opposed to the black and white of the rest of the products. Furthermore, the navigation tools made the website easy to use and that was something that I considered important.

However, most audiences wanted to see more distinct links between website and the other ancillary task such as digipak layout and such.

The digipak was well received and the target audience approved of the simplistic and modern stylisation that understood what was wanted to represent modern youth. The audience feedback also shows how the audience realised the links made between digipak and indie music videos that often use black and white.

Despite this, the simplistic design also meant that some audiences wanted to see more exaggerated design options. As such, I have learnt that I should do more lengthy primary and secondary research when completing such as project. Although, I believe that it is impossible to please a whole audience as everyone has different aesthetic choices.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?
